Environmental Training

Having served the waste industry for some time now, we can see that the weakest links are often the men working at the “coal face”. The driver and site men don’t always know, or are unsure how to fill the paperwork in. This makes the job of the Environment Agency easy if they ever come to prosecute you.

The Duty of Care (DoC) requires a waste transfer note (wtn) be written for each load (there is a season ticket system for multiple loads to and from the same site). The DoC has been updated and the majority of skip site are unaware of this and are using wtns that don’t comply with the law.

Ask yourselves, are my wtns up to date with current legislation?

Look at your completed wtns and check to see if your drivers are completing the notes correctly. They are legally required to do so and YOU are responsible. The Environment Agency will prosecute YOU, not the drivers.

We carry out the training on your site and at a time to suit you. This reduces the amount of time the drivers are away from the wagons. Courses last between 1½ and 2 hours.

Our on site courses

Completing paperwork for drivers (includes hazardous waste notes if applicable) Environmental awareness for site operatives (introduces the importance of you licence, the Duty of Care and the need for anti-pollution measures such as good drainage).

It is worth taking note that carrying out the above provides a great deal of evidence towards your Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC).
